This section presents a series of figures describing the prevalence of
school violence nationally in general terms using the latest cross-sectional
data available from the Monitoring
the Future (MTF) Study, the
Youth Risk Behavior Survey
(YRBS), the AddHealth Study,
and the School Crime Supplement to the
National Crime
Victimization Survey (NCVS). Data are presented on student self-report
measures of school victimization, perpetration, and school climate, and the data
are disaggregated by the grade level and sex of the student respondents. These
figures are offered to provide a sense of the relative frequency with which the
listed behaviors are reported by students.
