This project was created to provide data and resources for each state within the United States. Most often national statistics on crime and violence are readily available from a variety of sources; meanwhile, it tends to be more cumbersome to gather similar kinds of information at the state level. One of our goals at the Hamilton Fish Institute is to provide a comprehensive pool of information on current status of crime, children, poverty, violence, school-related phenomenon, to name a few, in each state.
This portion of our web page includes an expanding database of state statistics on hundreds of factors related to youth violence. This database is a work in progress and it is available for your use and comment. Additionally, we are in the process of creating "state pages" of information, highlighting some of the most interesting statistics regarding youth and community violence. Lastly, we are in the process of providing a list of links to resources within each state.
